Our Logo
“Ko Matawhaura ki runga
Ko Te Rotoiti ki raro
Ko ngā Kākahi ki waenganui”

The Ngāti Pikiao Iwi Trust logo was designed by Te Tai Cooper.
The top green triangle represents Matawhaura.
The notches that run down the sides of the triangle, represent the various pae maunga that surround our roto.
The bottom blue triangle represents Te Rotoiti.
The notches that run down the sides of the triangle, represent the awa that flow in and out of our moana.
The haehae lines in both triangles are whakarare – these are a tohu o te manaaki/tiaki.
This depicts the mahi that our Trust aspires to do for our people.
The tāniko pattern in the centre, as a whole, is a visual depiction of the kōrero – “Ngā kākahi a Hinehopu”. Ko te kākahi e kōrerohia ake nei, ko te iwi, the descendants of Hinehopu.
The blue tāniko pattern represents the currents in our moana – hei tohu i te rere ngātahi o te iwi.
The green tāniko pattern represents our ngahere that surround us – hei tohu i te tū pakari o te iwi.
